George Clooney's beloved potbellied pig Max has died.
The pet passed away at the 'Syriana' actor's Hollywood home from old age. He was suffering from arthritis and partial blindness.
Clooney told the USA Today newspaper: "He was as old a pig as the vets had ever seen. I was really surprised when he went. I'm really upset, he's been a big part of my life."
The 45-year-old actor befriended Max for 18 years, and often spoke of his affection for his pet hog, referring to him as "Max, the star". He even shared his bed with the pig.
Max is not the only animal friend Clooney has lost this year.
He explained: "It has been a bad year for my pets. I had a bulldog that died this year, too. It's strange how animals become a big part of your family. They really become a big issue with you."
Although he is deeply upset about Max's passing, Clooney has no intention of replacing him with another pig.
He said: "No, I won't be getting another one. I think Max covered all my pig needs."

Renée Zellweger is dreading working with George Clooney.
The actress, who is due to start filming 'Leatherheads' with George in January, has confessed she is terrified of his reputation as a practical joker.
Renée told People magazine: "I'm scared. I hear he's a terrible prankster and is really patient. He strikes when you least expect it.
"I'm going to be on alert, I'm never going to sleep, I'm sure of it. I'll be watching my back, George!"
The Oscar-winning actress has also revealed the secret of her slim frame.
Renée, 37, credits her slenderness on the short lunch breaks she had while working on new movie 'Case 39'.
She said: "We got 20-minute lunch breaks, that's all. And running around everywhere - that helps keep me in shape too."
Earlier this week, Renée revealed her love affair with British food.
The 'Cold Mountain' actress confessed at the world premiere of 'Miss Potter' in London's Leicester Square: "I understand the whole beans on toast for breakfast thing. I crave it."

Eddie Murphy and his pregnant lover Mel B have split up.
The comic actor, who was planning to marry the former Spice Girl, has revealed he is no longer with Mel and is demanding a paternity test for her unborn child.
During an interview on Dutch TV show 'RTL Boulevard', which was conducted last weekend but aired last night (04.12.06), Eddie was asked about his relationship with Mel.
He angrily replied: "You're being presumptuous, because we're not together anymore. And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."
However, Eddie's representative has vehemently denied the actor made that statement.
He said: "Mr Murphy does not discuss his personal life publicly, so whatever is being reported is a fabrication and did not occur."
It seems Eddie has found a new love already.
Tracey Edmonds, film producer and ex-wife of singer Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, claims she has been dating Eddie for "about a month and a half".
Eddie and Tracey attended the New York premiere of his new film 'Dreamgirls' together on Monday (04.12.06) and said they were "very happy and having fun".
Mel, 31, and Eddie, 45, started dating in June, just two months after the 'Daddy Day Care' actor's divorce from Nicole Mitchell, with whom he has five children, was finalised.
Mel - who is five months pregnant - has a seven-year-old daughter Phoenix-Chi with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar.

Johnny Depp has demanded a Moroccan-themed trailer on the set of his latest movie 'Sweeney Todd'.
Pinewood Studio bosses have agreed to the 43-year-old actor's unusual request and forked out £20,000 to re-decorate his accommodation.
Depp's trailer is now adorned with expensive drapes, scented candles and several Moroccan shish pipes - used for smoking flavoured tobacco.
Depp is said to have taken interior design advice from his idol Rolling Stones star Keith Richards.
The guitarist - who inspired Depp's 'Pirates of the Caribbean' character Captain Jack Sparrow - is a huge fan of the North African country and its culture.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "There were a few raised eyebrows when producers heard what his demands for his trailer were. But no expense has been spared with the best quality drapes we could find, the pipes and a selection of flavoured tobacco."
Depp also has the biggest trailer, after discovering Vince Vaughn - who is also shooting at Pinewood Studios - is renting the London home he had planned to stay in.
The source added: "Johnny was upset that Vince is renting the house in South West London that he wanted.
"So to make him feel better, Johnny asked that his trailer is bigger than Vince's which is only a few yards away. We've given him the biggest one to make him happy."

Jackie Chan starred in an adult film when he was a struggling actor.
The martial arts expert, famous for his death-defying stunts, appeared in a Hong Kong made X-rated movie entitled 'All In The Family' 31 years ago when he was an unknown 21-year-old.
However, Chan, now 52, insists he is not ashamed of the film and says it is tame compared to modern pornographic movies.
He revealed to Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "I had to do anything I could to make a living but I don't think it's a big deal - even Marlon Brando used to be exposed in some of his movies. The porn movies at that time were far more conservative than the current films."
Chan isn't the only Hollywood action hero with a pornographic past.
Before making it in Tinseltown Sylvester Stallone appeared in a soft-core adult film entitled 'Party at Kitty and Stud's'.
The movie - which was originally a hard core movie before the most graphic scenes were cut - was re-released after Stallone became a superstar under the title 'The Italian Stallion' - a reference to his boxing character Rocky Balboa's nickname.

Brittany Murphy has devised a new way to keep hold of her men - keeping her mouth shut.
The 'Sin City' star, who has a number of failed relationships behind her, including a romance with Ashton Kutcher, believes she has been too hasty to speak about her lovers.
Brittany - whose engagement to movie production assistant Joe Macaluso was called off in August - has vowed to remain tight-lipped when she finds a new boyfriend.
The 29-year-old actress said: "I am a serial monogamist so it's hard for me to get a date as it is. One thing I did learn from my last relationship is not to speak about relationships any more.
"I used to be the sort of girl who would shout from the mountain tops about my latest love. But experience has taught me to be more cautious."

Gwyneth Paltrow claims she would "never, ever" make anti-American comments.
The Oscar-winning actress - who splits her time between London and New York with husband Chris Martin - says she is "deeply upset" by the remarks accredited to her and claims she was misquoted.
The 34-year-old actress was quoted as saying: "The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans."
Gwyneth has now told People magazine: "First of all I feel so lucky to be American. When you look at the rest of the world, we're so lucky. I feel so proud to be American. I felt so upset to be completely misconstrued and I never, ever would have said that.
"I definitely did not say that I think the British are more intelligent and civilized than Americans. I am a New York girl. I live in England half the time because I'm married to an English guy. It's not like I've left America."
She added: "I said that Europe is a much older culture and there's a difference. I always say in America, people live to work and in Europe, people work to live. There are positives in both."
Despite this pro-American stance, Gwyneth has been quoted criticising her homeland on several previous occasions.
In January 2006, the actress said: "I love the English way, which is not as capitalistic as it is in America. People don't talk about work and money - they talk about interesting things at dinner parties."
In February, Gwyneth said she favours English people over Americans.
She was quoted as saying: "Brits are far more intelligent and civilised than Americans. I love the fact that you can hail a taxi and just pick up your pram and put in the back of the cab without having to collapse it."

Nicole Kidman's reunion with husband Keith Urban is to be short-lived, because he is only on leave from rehab.
The couple met for brunch in Los Angeles on Sunday (03.12.06) but, contrary to reports, the country singer will not be going home to Nashville and instead will return to the Betty Ford Centre in Palm Springs to resume his treatment for alcohol abuse.
Urban's representative said: "At this stage in treatment patients are occasionally allowed to leave for short periods of time.
"Keith is not out of rehab and is not back home in Nashville."
Urban, 39, checked into rehab on October 19, where he was expected to stay for 40 days.
He said: "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me."
Kidman, 39, last visited her husband - who has previously been treated for cocaine and alcohol addiction - at the clinic on November 12.
It is thought that one requisite of the couple's prenuptial agreement was that Urban would seek treatment immediately if he began drinking again.

Renée Zellweger wants to date a British man.
The single actress, whose marriage to country singer Kenny Chesney lasted just four months before it was annulled, is on the look out for a new man and is extending her search to the UK.
Renée - who is in London promoting her new film 'Miss Potter', in which she plays Peter Rabbit author Beatrix Potter - said: "I like to think of myself as busy rather than single. But British men, hey, what's not to like? They're all gorgeous. A British guy? Why not?"
British men aren't the only thing from across the pond Renée has an appetite for.
Earlier this week, she confessed she has developed taste for traditional British cuisine.
She said: "I understand the whole beans on toast for breakfast thing. I crave it."
The 37-year-old Anglophile is also considering buying a property in the UK.
She revealed: "I've been thinking of buying a second home in England - but London? I couldn't afford it."

Ricky Gervais is disappointed he hasn't been welcomed into Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson's comedy frat pack.
The British comedian was invited by friend Ben Stiller - who appeared in an episode of Ricky's hit BBC comedy series 'Extras' - to play an eccentric museum boss in new family film 'Night At The Museum'.
But since shooting finished Ricky has not managed to become an honorary member of Ben's 'comedy club', which includes Owen, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Paul Rudd.
The collective of actors often hang out and regularly appear in each other's films.
Ricky - who stars alongside Owen and British actor Steve Coogan in the movie - told BANG Showbiz: "I didn't become a member of the team. It was just me and Steve."
Ricky was also disappointed his scenes in the film were only with Ben and not Robin Williams and Dick Van Dyke, who also star in the picture.
He added: "I was disappointed. I spoke to Dick afterwards, but it would have been amazing to work with him. My filming was all over in three days."

Justin Timberlake ignored ex Britney Spears at a Los Angeles nightclub.
The former sweethearts both attended top nightspot Hyde last Thursday (30.11.06) but the 'SexyBack' singer reportedly kept his distance.
A source told gossip website X17online: "Justin stayed on the dance floor the whole night and avoided Britney like the plague."
Britney - who celebrated her 25th birthday on Saturday (02.12.06) - has become a regular at the club since her split from Kevin Federline, the father of her two sons, 15-month-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, three months.
Justin was partying without long-term girlfriend Cameron Diaz, who is currently promoting her Christmas movie 'The Holiday'.
Britney and Justin met as children when they starred on 'The Mickey Mouse Club'. The couple began dating when Justin was part of the hugely successful boy band 'N Sync years later.
They were together for several years before splitting in 2002.

Janet Jackson loves to strip for her lover.
The 'All For You' singer - who is dating music producer Jermaine Dupri - treats her partner to a seductive X-rated dance whenever he wants.
She told Britain's FHM magazine: "When they ask, you give them what they want. They're asking you, they could be easily asking someone else. So he's asked me before and I've given."
Janet insists she has an insatiable sexual appetite and will romp "any time, any place". She claims Jermaine gets incredibly turned on by her ample breasts, which ballooned when she gained weight for a movie role last year.
She said: "Jermaine would call me Double D. I'd say, 'I'm not a double D! I refuse to go up a cup size!' I squeezed into a C."
Janet, 40, also loves the fact that 34-year-old Jermaine is younger than her, because it means he is able to keep up with her in the bedroom.
She said: "Sexually, we 40-year-olds are in our prime. It's nice when you're with someone younger because they can keep up. I have way more sexual experience now and it shows."

Victoria Beckham has been house-hunting in Los Angeles.
The former Spice Girl and her soccer star husband David are said to want to set up home in America and Victoria has been viewing properties in Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills.
A source said: "The places Victoria was shown weren't exactly holiday homes. These were the sort of places that the Hollywood big-hitters buy as their main residence."
Among the properties the 32-year-old has viewed are an £8 million mansion just five doors away from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' home and a £9 million pad once owned by British radio DJ Chris Evans and his ex-wife Billie Piper.
Victoria's house-hunting trip comes just weeks after the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team confirmed they are interested in signing her husband.
David, 31, has hinted he wants to end his football career in the US and that he will leave Spain when his contract with Real Madrid comes to an end this summer.

Rachel Bilson has split from her 'The O.C.' co-star Adam Brody.
The 25-year-old actress - who plays Summer in the hit US TV series - has been dating her onscreen boyfriend since 2004 but the couple have now decided to call time on their romance.
A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: "They've been done for a few weeks. They are just done. That's all there is to it. There's no drama. They just ended it."
Rachel recently made her film debut starring alongside Zach Braff in 'The Last Kiss', while Adam has had roles in 'Mr and Mrs Smith' and 'Thank You For Smoking'.
It seems Adam, 26, is already enjoying his single status.
Last week, he attended a launch party in Los Angeles alone and was seen talking to several women.
A source said: "He was definitely acting like a single guy."
Other Los Angeles clubbers say Adam has recently been spending a lot of time partying without Rachel and visiting clubs with groups of male friends.
Representatives for both 'The O.C.' stars have so far refused to comment on the split.

Paris Hilton is back with her sometime boyfriend Stavros Niarchos.
The hotel heiress and the Greek shipping heir - who announced their split in May this year - have recently been seen canoodling on several occasions and spent Friday night (01.12.06) together.
The couple were photographed leaving Los Angeles nightclub Little Door and paparazzi followed them back to Paris' house.
One photographer said: "They dashed out of the club together and raced back home. When they arrived at the house Paris announced, 'I'm going to bed', and then dragged Stavros inside."
Last week, 'The Simple Life' star was seen wearing an open locket with two pictures of her and Stavros inside it.
One photograph showed Paris, 25, and 21-year-old Stavros kissing and another pictures them cuddled up cheek-to-cheek.

Michael Jackson will not face new child molestation and fraud charges.
However, the singer still stands accused of assault, battery, wilful misconduct, false imprisonment and sexual battery allegations brought by Daniel Kapon.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rolf Treu dismissed charges of molestation, plagiarism, fraud, breach of contract, negligence, civil conspiracy and unfair business practices on Monday (04.12.06), according to E! online.
21-year-old Kapon made the allegations earlier this year.
He claims Jackson "repeatedly and forcefully sexually molested him" from the age of two until he was 14.
Kapon's lawsuit - originally filed in Orange County in January, but transferred to Los Angeles County in March - claims that from 1987 Jackson forced him to take drugs and drink alcohol, made him undergo unnecessary cosmetic surgery, and burned, tortured and beat him.
Kapon also accuses Jackson of "false imprisonment" at various times between 1987 and 1991 at his Neverland Ranch.
The plaintiff had claimed Jackson stole his song lyrics and melodies when the 'Bad', 'Dangerous' and 'HIStory' albums were released.
However, Kapon was aged between four and 14 at this time.
Jackson's case is set to go to trial next June.
It has been reported that if Jackson is asked to testify, he will do so through a taped deposition.
The 'Thriller' singer hasn't returned to the US since he was acquitted of criminal molestation charges 18 months ago.

Peaches Geldof wants to be a rapper.
The 17-year-old socialite and part-time DJ claims she is extremely talented on the mic and would love to release a hip-hop track.
She told Britain's Star magazine: "Not many people know this, but I'm a really good rapper, seriously."
Meanwhile, Peaches has rubbished claims her partying is out of control - and insists she hasn't been drunk for months.
The blonde teenager, the daughter of Sir Bob Geldof, is getting a reputation as a wild child on the London club scene but insists it is unwarranted because she rarely drinks.
She said: "I haven't been drunk for ages. A long time ago! I don't drink a lot or go out that much really, despite what people say."

Jason Orange has no sperm left.
The Take That singer says that while his other bandmates had children after the group split up, he sowed his seed and continued to party.
Jason jokingly told Britain's New magazine: "I haven't been writing songs. I didn't get married. I've got no kids. I've got no sperm left. No, I'm joking, I've got lots of sperm!"
Bandmate Howard Donald added: "He hasn't got any b***s!"
Jason has also lifted the lid on what he did after the group broke-up.
He insists he was happy to remove himself completely from the music industry, but did try his hand at acting on a few occasions during the last 10 years.
He explained: "After Take That split up, I moved away completely from the music industry and I've been doing very little - just relaxing and having a long holiday. I did a bit of acting, too, and went back to college."

Britney Spears' mother has begged the singer to quit partying.
Lynne Spears is said to be very concerned that her newly single daughter is seemingly spending night after night drinking with new best friend Paris Hilton.
Lynne rang up Britney and begged her to calm down, but the pair ended up having a "ferocious bust-up".
Family friend Marina Watts told Britain's Star magazine: "Lynne is absolutely devoted to Britney and really only wants the best for her. She has seen TV footage of Britney showing off her backside, displaying her boobs and generally partying up a storm with Paris and thinks it is tacky."
Lynne, 50, suggested Britney, 25 - who filed for divorce from Kevin Federline last month after two years of marriage - should move back to her hometown in Kentwood, Louisiana, for a quieter life.
She reportedly told Britney: "You're going off the rails, can't you see?"
However, the 'Toxic' singer apparently ignored her mother's pleas, saying she didn't want to be back among the "rednecks".

Mary J. Blige scooped an incredible nine awards at America's 2006 Billboard Music Awards on Monday night (04.12.06).
The 35-year-old singer took home more prizes than any other artist thanks to her comeback album 'The Breakthrough'.
Among the accolades Mary scooped were R'n'B/Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year, Female R'n'B Artist Of The Year and R'n'B/Hip-Hop Album Of The Year.
Newcomer Chris Brown, 17, won New Artist Of The Year, Male Of Artist Of The Year and Artist Of The Year Awards, while fellow newcomer Rihanna beat Beyoncé Knowles to win Female Artist Of The Year.
As she accepted her statuette 18-year-old Rihanna said: "I really can't feel my legs, this is phenomenal. That was a really tough category."
Janet Jackson opened the show with her 1980s classic 'The Pleasure Principle' mixed into new single 'So Excited' from her 2006 album '20 Y.O.'.
Janet showed off a new bob haircut and wore a white polo-neck jumper that revealed her naval, but allowed no opportunity for nipple flashing.
Mary J. Blige, Gwen Stefani and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie also performed.
Pamela Anderson's estranged husband Kid Rock closed the show by joining Nickelback on stage to perform 'Looking for Some Touch' with ZZ Top.
Nickelback won three awards including Artist Group Of The Year and Rock Album Of The Year.
New friends Britney Spears and Paris Hilton had originally been lined up to host the lavish ceremony, but both dropped out.
The Killers cancelled their performance after band member Brandon Flowers fell ill.
